Trail Work with Oboz at Mill Mountain
Looking to join trail enthusiasts and support Mill Mountain's ecosystem?
Join fellow park and plant enthusiasts for invasive species removal work at Mill Mountain Park! Roanoke Parks and Recreation will be hosting a workday to remove invasive species such as Japanesse Bush Honeysuckle and Kudzu on Mill Mountain near the Discovery Center. This workday will meet at the Discovery Center on Mill Mountain Park at 2000 JB Fishburn Parkway at 9am and go until noon.
Please dress appropriately in long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Participants under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult and all participants must be capable of performing physical labor and using hand tools for up to two hours.
Volunteers will receive a pair of Oboz x Black Folks Camp Too Unity Blaze insoles as a thank you for their efforts. Designed not only to support hikers, the insoles are also designed to support getting more people outdoors with Black Folks Camp Too’s Unity Blaze and the message “you are invited and welcomed.”
