Orvis commits 5% of its pre-tax profits to protecting nature, advancing canine health and well-being, and supporting the communities in which we operate, and where our associates live. We support these initiatives in the following ways:
ORVIS CUSTOMER MATCHING GRANTS
Our largest grants are Customer Matching Grants, whereby Orvis commits a substantial matching fund for donations solicited from our customers through promotions in our catalogs, stores, websites, social media, emails, and publicity campaigns. These grants offer the additional benefit of bringing strong publicity and endorsement to the project, the value of which often far exceeds the actual dollars raised.
Customer Matching Grant recipients are selected by the Orvis Conservation Committee. Throughout the year, the Committee researches what it believes to be the most compelling issues facing our environment. A decision is made as to what issue to undertake for the coming year, and then Committee members research the organizations doing the most impactful work to address it. Orvis does not accept submissions for Customer Matching Grants without an invitation.
Orvis accepts submissions for smaller grants from non-profit organizations whose goals align with our mission statement. If you would like to request support for your organization, please submit a project brief of no more than two pages, which includes:
- A project description and goal
- Overall budget and timeline
- The type and/or amount of support you are seeking from Orvis
- A brief description of how Orvis’ support will be publicized
- Name and address of the project’s principle contact(s)
Please send to firstname.lastname@example.org. Projects are submitted to the Conservation Committee on a quarterly basis (April 1, July 1, October 1, January 1).
Orvis also donates product for auctions and raffles to non-profit organizations whose goals align with our mission statement. These product donations are to be used for fundraising purposes only. Please submit your request to email@example.com at least six weeks prior to your event. Please include the date of the event, a shipping address (no PO Boxes, please), contact person, and a brief description of the event’s goal.
